Stay in the Original Spice Bus on Airbnb

While you can stay in Scottish bookshops, Moon Camps, and sustainably built homes through Airbnb, it’s unlikely that anyone anticipated being able to spend a night in the original Spice Bus from the 1997 movie Spice World. Now, thanks to the work of a Spice Girls super fan, the iconic bus has been renovated to allow other fans of the movie to book an Airbnb stay and relive their memories of the classic British film.

After host Suzanne Godley’s boss mentioned to her that he was thinking of purchasing the Spice Bus, Godley was immediately on board. Having spent most of her childhood watching the Spice World movie on repeat, renovating the bus offered her a chance to relive her childhood dreams. Godley recalls when they first received the bus, it was a neglected shell of its silver screen appearance. But after working hard to restore and transform it, the bus has now become a Spice Girls-inspired living space.

The exterior of the bus still has the iconic Union Jack paint job from the Spice World movie, but the interior has been redesigned into a complete living area. The ground floor of the bus has a cozy living room space with a television, dining table, and even an old CD player to listen to all your favourite Spice Girls classics. From scrunchies to disco balls, the interior design and decor of the bus is carefully selected to evoke a strong sense of 90s nostalgia.

The upstairs portion of the double-decker bus, accessed by zebra-print carpeted stairway, is where guests will find the bedroom and a cozy dressing area. Accommodating a maximum of three guests, the bedroom contains a double and a single bed, with enough room for a Spice Girls sleepover for you and two friends. While a bathroom isn’t located on the bus itself, there’s a temporary bathroom with a toilet, shower, and sink, along with toiletries and towels all for private use just a couple of steps from the bus.

The bus can be found in Market Square, just by Wembley Park in London, England. Spice World super fans wanting to spend a night in the bus will need to be quick to book since the Spice Bus will only be available for a few limited dates. Initially available only for Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th, due to the high demand host Suzanne Godley will be adding more dates on Wednesday May 22nd to give more fans a chance to stay in the Spice Bus. Aspiring guests should also keep in mind that since the bus retains its original overall structure, steps are required to access the bus which is ultimately not suited for all accessibility needs.

Staying in the Spice Bus will cost guests £99 or around $111, and guests should be aware that the bus doesn’t have kitchen facilities, running water, or wifi. This being said, complimentary snacks and water are provided, and shops and restaurants are within a minute’s walk. Guests staying in the bus will also be right by Wembley park, which during the summer runs a free outdoor screening program from May 31st to July 23rd. A variety of iconic films will be shown at the park, with Spice World playing on June 13th, 14th, and 15th, making for a perfect Spice Girls fan experience for any guests staying in the bus on the 14th or 15th of June.
