Automate your Key Exchange by Connecting your Keycafe and Airbnb Accounts

Vacation rental hosts using the Airbnb platform are now able to better automate their key exchange thanks to Keycafe’s direct integration with the Airbnb platform. By linking their Airbnb and Keycafe accounts, hosts will be able to set up key accesses for the dates of a stay as soon as guests have confirmed their booking. Along with this, once a key access has been set up for an Airbnb guest, the dates and times of the access will be automatically updated if the reservation is changed or cancelled.

Integrating your Keycafe and Airbnb Accounts

In order to integrate a Keycafe account with an Airbnb account, key owners will need to log into their Keycafe account on their mobile phone or desktop. Below is a set of step-by-step instructions to guide you through the integration process.

1. Log into your Keycafe account.
2. Select Add. (More in the Keycafe mobile app)
3. Select Integration.
4. Select Airbnb. (+Add followed by Airbnb in the Keycafe mobile app)
5. Make sure you are logged into your Airbnb account. Select Connect with Airbnb to proceed.
6. You will be asked to allow Keycafe to access your basic profile information, upcoming reservation details, and your listings. Please note: Keycafe does not get access to your Airbnb account or learn your password.
7. Select Allow to proceed.

At this point, your Keycafe and Airbnb accounts are connected and you’ll be able to view your reservations from the Integrations menu. You’ll be able to select a reservation and have the reservation’s information fill in automatically before needing to confirm the key access for your Airbnb guests.

Benefits of Integrating your Keycafe and Airbnb Accounts

Once a Keycafe account is integrated with an Airbnb account, key-owners will be able to see all of their Airbnb account’s reservations directly within the Keycafe app. When a guest confirms their booking on Airbnb, key-owners are immediately sent an email with a direct link to create a key access for their guests. When creating this access through the Integrations menu, the key access dates and times are auto-completed in accordance with the guest’s stay, with key-owners only needing to confirm the information in order to create the access.

If the dates of an Airbnb reservation change at a certain point after access has been given, Keycafe automatically changes the key access dates to match the new booking details. Similarly, if an Airbnb booking is cancelled, the key access for that guest is automatically cancelled, so hosts don’t need to worry about updating their key accesses for bookings once they’ve been made.
