Looking for a place to stay when visiting Sydney? We’ve put together a list of five of the most unique Airbnbs you can find in and around the city.
Sydney’s Most Unique Airbnb Stays
Thinking about making a trip to Sydney and looking for somewhere a little bit different to stay? Or perhaps you are from Sydney and are looking to get away for a night or two and discover something unique. Airbnb is a great option when it comes to finding accommodation for your needs, but many people aren’t aware that there are some really unique homes where you can stay for less than the price of a hotel.
Here is our pick of the five most unique Airbnbs available in Sydney right now. Who knows, maybe you can plan a trip that involves staying at all of them!
Luxury Private Yacht
Let’s be honest, this one is all in the name. Who wouldn’t want to stay on board a yacht? Now, I’m afraid that you can’t take off and sail it on your own, but this can be arranged with a guide for a further cost. This doesn’t mean you can’t have the perfect photo op of you behind the wheel. Located in Pittwater, the Beneteau First 45 Yacht has a full-size queen bed, ensuite, second bathroom, dining table, and leather lounger, with a burner stove and fridge.
Plus, there is plenty to see and do during your stay. Sit outside and enjoy some people watching, go for a bushwalk in one of Sydney’s largest National Parks, or get adventurous and have a go at paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, or snorkelling. The views are absolutely stunning and you won’t want to leave.
East Villa with Ocean Views
Prefer to be near the water but not on it? This is the option for you. Located on the headland between Freshwater and Curl Curl beaches in Sydney, this is the most idyllic way to experience beach life with a 180 degree panoramic view. You can take a dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool and spa on the rooftop terrace, while watching the people down on the sand.
This place is best shared with a group or family, with six bedrooms split across three levels with a big open plan kitchen and parking on site (always helpful as parking is scarce near the beach).
You can simply stroll out the door and right down to the beach, or stay put while you enjoy some drinks on the rooftop terrace overlooking the water.
Little Black Shack
Sometimes when you get away, you really want to get away. Away from the noise, the bustle, the city life, the beach. Away from it all. The Little Black Shack should be your go-to. This original sandstone and fisherman’s cottage is situated right on the edge of Mackeral Beach in Pittwater. The place has been restored to create the perfect beach and bush escape for couples. You can jump on a ferry to get here, and once you arrive you will really feel like you are a million miles from anywhere, and that sense of seclusion will help you settle in and relax.
The house itself can cater for up to four guests, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has the homeliest feel to it with books, boats, guitars, fishing lines and more making up the décor to transport you to a different place.
Harbour Bridge Views
Talk about a room with a view! One of the most iconic sites in Sydney is worth seeing day in and day out in this beautiful location. This is honestly one of the best views in Sydney and you can enjoy it all to yourself. The large sweeping balcony offers views of the Harbour Bridge and Lavender Bay, with Luna Park just beneath you (if you are after some thrill seeking fun).
There is also a heated pool and gym in the building, so you are equipped with everything you need. There’s one bedroom, two beds, and a bathroom. You are just a stone’s throw from the city, so getting around is nice and easy with the train station in walking distance. It’s the perfect place to situate yourself for some sightseeing when you’re in the city of Sydney.
Warehouse Loft
Enjoy something a little bit different with this large Warehouse Loft located in Marrickville, above a working Art Studio – The Bakehouse Studio. You will really be able to immerse yourself in culture with this huge space featuring one bedroom, two beds and a bathroom. If you like to dabble in the arty side yourself, the studio is run by one of the owners of the property and she will be happy to show you a thing or two.
Marrickville itself is quite an old suburb not too far from the city. You can still enjoy all the perks of being close to transport and the sites of Sydney, while settling into a bit more history and culture.
