Keycafe has launched its property access services in Taipei, Taiwan, helping property managers, Airbnb hosts, and other businesses simplify their key exchange and guest check-in experience. Partnering with 7-Eleven in Taiwan, Keycafe has launched a variety of SmartBox locations across Taipei, with more locations planned for expansion across the rest of Taipei. By providing an easy key exchange service, Keycafe enables Taipei residents to share keys and take advantage of various sharing economy services in their city, from car shares to home sharing.

Keycafe Connects Taipei to the Sharing Economy

The sharing economy has provided people across the world with better access to goods and services, connecting them with the community around them while often providing affordable alternatives. Airbnb has enabled anyone to share their home, Zipcar allows anyone with a driver’s licence to quickly rent a car, and services like JackerCleaning provide on-demand cleaning services, but property access and key exchange remain a point of friction for customers using these services. Whether its dog walkers, short-term rental guests, or a cleaner, Keycafe’s gives you the ability to manage your property access while you’re away from home.

Keycafe is especially useful for short-term rental operators and property managers, letting them provide automated guest check-in services without having to be present when guests arrive. With a connected network of Smartboxes in 24/7 locations in 7-Eleven’s across Taipei, visitors to the city will be able to pick up their keys in a friendly location which provides a wide selection of food and essential travel amenities. Keycafe also allows businesses to purchase private SmartBoxes for enterprise key management, which can be installed in building lobbies to manage key storage and access for staff members and building residents.

How Keycafe Makes Sharing Keys Easy

By installing SmartBoxes in 7-Elevens across Taipei, residents can store their keys in a variety of locations for key exchange. Key owners are then able to send anyone access through their email or mobile phone number, with the guest receiving a one-click link that will guide them through their key pickup and drop-off journey.

Key owners have access to a complete history of their key’s activities, and are able to manage their accesses from anywhere at anytime from the Keycafe app on their mobile phone. Key owners can also request that guests upload a photo ID document of themselves in order to verify the identity of the guest picking up the keys. Hosts can add an extra layer of security by requiring guests to also upload a real-time selfie 30 minutes before they pick up their keys.
