Go Around the World in 80 Days with Airbnb Adventures

Airbnb have unveiled an expansion of Airbnb Experiences called Airbnb Adventures – a variety of multi-day travel experiences for anyone to book. This new initiative invites expert guides from around the world to share their experiences, culture, and way of life with intrepid travellers looking for new escapades. To coincide with the launch of Adventures, Airbnb is offering people the chance to book an adventure that takes them around the world in 80 days, inspired by the Jules Verne classic.

Airbnb designed Adventures to be highly accessible for everyone, launching with a multitude of experiences in every continent. From active Adventures featuring treks up the Himalayan mountains to more culturally-interactive and even culinary-based expeditions, there are more than 200 Adventures available around the world starting today. Adventures start at prices as low as $79 for an overnight trip and make it easy for travellers to enjoy their trip, with itineraries curated by knowledgeable hosts, lodging and meals included, and all travel logistics completely taken care of.  

The variety of adventures Airbnb has put together at launch is astounding, with some of the longer trips offering completely unique once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Some examples of longer trips are a ten-day rafting expedition around Canada’s Yukon, a six-day slow food safari in Ecuador’s Puerto Ayora, and an eleven-day spiritual journey visiting temples and monasteries in Kathmandu, Nepal. Each Airbnb Adventure’s page features a comprehensive breakdown of the itinerary, what’s included in the adventure, and information about the hosts and where you’ll be adventuring.

Probably the biggest and most exciting adventure is Airbnb’s 80-day trip around the world, which will be available for bookings on June 20th. The trip starts in London on September 1st, and for $5,000 provides all lodging, meals, activities, and travel across 18 different countries. With over 50 different local hosts taking you to gorgeous sights and hidden paths, you’ll be travelling using eight different modes of transportation, including the classic hot air balloon from the original story.

This evolution of Airbnb Experiences provides an easy way for anyone to have access to a huge collection of overnight adventures. Airbnb emphasises the ease with which anyone can go on one of these adventures – all you have to do is show up. The median price of a three-day adventure is $588, highlighting the fairly low average costs of going on one of these fully lodged and hosted trips, with all meals accounted for. Along with this, Airbnb has partnered with GoPro to provide travelers booking any Adventure with $200 off a GoPro HERO7 Black Adventure Kit.
